Thank you to everyone for a successful 2011 Women Against MS Luncheon. The event raised $53,000 to help support the MS Scholarship Program! We invite you to view this moving video about our mission that was shown during the event. *Please turn your sound all the way up.
For the past six years, the Women Against Multiple Sclerosis (WAMS) Leadership Luncheon has attracted the Triangle’s top community leaders for an afternoon of networking, education, awareness, and fundraising.
Funds raised at the luncheon are used to inspire and foster the next generation of leaders. As Women leaders, we have a responsibility to promote and encourage leadership in the next generation. This event provides leadership insight from highly regarded, nationally recognized women leaders that the attendees can then learn from and use in their fostering and mentoring of the next generation of leaders.
This ties into MS specifically, by WAMS fostering and funding leadership promotion for college-bound students that have been impacted by MS. Funds from the luncheon will be supporting the Eastern NC Chapter’s National MS Scholarship Fund. Women leaders have no greater responsibility than to foster and encourage leadership in our next generation. This is especially true when those future leaders come from families that have significant challenges, such as those with a parent with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) or those young adults with MS themselves.
